India and Indians: Emerging Opportunities

Unifi Foundation has been involved in the areas of pediatric health, improving quality of primary education for the underprivileged, promoting contemporary arts and select sports. With this evening’s forum we hope to initiate a new and exciting step towards expanding our role in society. We believe that empowering India’s successful people and knowledgeable minds to explore new, different and diverse ways of engaging with the economy will eventually foster creative solutions for inclusive growth. We hope to be a catalyst in our quest for progress. Unifi Foundation sincerely believes that true change in society can be inspired through examples set by a few great leaders such as Dr.Kalam; and when this change percolates to society's grapevine - society and culture undergo transformation leading eventually to a more secure and happier nation.

In this endeavor, on Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam's birth anniversary, we have invited Dr.Y.S.Rajan, recipient of Padma Shri and Dr.Kalam's close confidant to speak of the Kalam India missed. Not Kalam the President or Kalam the scientist or Kalam the teacher but Kalam the economist and his never heard before radical economic views for India's economic development.

Unifi Foundation with great excitement invites you to be part of this special day. Let us remember India's most popular President who believed that one must never stop learning as:

"Learning brings about creativity
Creativity helps you think
Thinking provides knowledge

Knowledge makes you great and useful to the nation" – A.P.J.Abdul Kalam
